American Petro-Hunter Announces Development Plan for North Oklahoma Shale Oil Project

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company") today wishes to provide further details of the Company's North Oklahoma Project, and discuss the ongoing development plan for the 7 leases totaling over 1,000 acres located in Payne County, near Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Shale oil plays have become the source of considerable domestic onshore production over the past few years as the technological refinement of horizontal drilling techniques and the use of fracture stimulation programs designed to liberate the oil from the shale formations has increased dramatically. Recently, shale plays of magnitude in similar shales such as the Bakken and Green River formations are showing the best results from horizontal wells. American Petro-Hunter believes that its working interest participation in the Oklahoma project has the potential to become a large shale oil play offering stable long life reserves and predictable production.

The North Oklahoma Project has several prospective locations and the minimum 640 acres required to drill a 2,000 foot horizontal well and the operator is currently developing the engineering data and cost analysis in order to commence operations. [more]

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company") is today pleased to report that completion of the No. 3 Well at the North Oklahoma Project is ongoing.

The Oklahoma well has been drilled to depth and casing set. A perforation of the 40 foot pay zone has been completed and the well is now undergoing acidization of the zone. As soon as swab rates have established the potential of the well through acidization of the formation, the Company and operator will decide whether fracture simulation ("frac") is required, or to put the well on pump in order to commence oil production and continue monitoring progress as the well stabilizes. American Petro-Hunter #3 Lutters Oil Well Commences Production

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company"), is today pleased to announce that the #3 Lutters well has commenced commercial oil production.

The well is the second producer at the Poston Prospect, located in Trego County, Kansas. Facility installations including a pump jack have been installed, electrical connections are completed and the well has been tied into the existing storage tank battery. The #3 Lutters is offset to the #1 Lutters well that has been in production since June, 2009 and is part of an ongoing program designed to increase overall production from the reservoir.

Oil production rates from the #3 Lutters are anticipated in the 80 to 100 BPD range and the Company and engineers believe that the project will shortly be producing over 110 BPD once the well reaches stable production rates. [more]

The #3 Lutters is at the Poston Project in Trego County, Kansas where the 4,328 foot well intersected the reservoir pay zone as anticipated. The new producer is a direct off-set to the #1 Lutters well that has been in production since June 2009. The Company is pleased by the success at the Poston Project as the #3 Lutters will significantly increase the total oil production from the project.

(OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company") is pleased to announce commencement of drilling operations at the #3 Lutters Well at the Poston Prospect, located in Trego County, Kansas. The well is scheduled to spud today and the Company expects drilling to take 7 days to reach the planned 4,500 foot target depth. The #3 well is a direct offset by 300 feet to the #1 Lutters well that has been in production since June 2009.

The #3 Lutters well is targeting the oil producing Mississippi Dolomite formation identified by a 3D seismic high which pinpoints the oil bearing horizon. The #3 Lutters offset well is part of an ongoing, multi-well drilling program designed to fully exploit the 750 acre location. [more]
